Gary Neville admitted that he was waiting for Manchester United fans to demand the dismissal of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at some point in his tenure.
Norway's Solskjaer is a breath of fresh air at Old Trafford after replacing Jose Mourinho as acting director in December.
The former United striker sent the club back into the race to rank among the top four with Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham and inspired the Reds in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
Solskjaer is expected to be named full-time director of United before the expiry of his current temporary contract at the end of the season.
But he stumbled upon this first mini-crisis in the Old Trafford pit, after losing to Arsenal and the Wolves in consecutive games, making the FA Cup empty in the meantime.
The legend of the United States, Neville, said that the painting was "naive", amid rumors that Mourinho was expelled earlier in the camp. Supporters claim that Neville was a sympathizer of the unpopular Portuguese boss.
And now, he predicted that fans will fall on Solskjaer's back at some point.
"The fact that United could be 6th tonight after the race we had just shows what position this man (Mourinho) has left us," tweeted United's fan.
"How it lasted until December, I will never understand. @ GNev2 and the Jose Brigade played their role, but the responsibility lies with the council. "
Neville responded with a shrug of his shoulders before another fan immersed himself in the room.
"LOL he had there. Fully agree with the man. Your management justice badociation cost us, "she said.
Neville replied on Twitter: "When you all ask that one day, Ole be fired, I will support him too and I will disappoint you again. sorry [thumbs up emoji]. "
