Fulham 1-2 Liverpool: "Firmino, a selfish, needs more chances himself" – Hasselbaink

Roberto Firmino scored Liverpool's first goal in the win against Fulham on Sunday, but he only scored in one of his last nine games with the Reds.

I know the Brazilian has played an important and selfless role alongside Jurgen Klopp, but his team needs to increase the overall offensive threat. In this context, I would like to see it enter the surface more.

I want to see Firmino demand more chances from his teammates because at the moment, he is not enough.

We know how good he is when he has an opportunity in front of the goal, and what I really like about him is that he is so calm in these situations.

When the opportunity arises, he sees the image so that he is in the right place – and he can also perform it.

The first part is the easiest part, but you need calm to find the net. Firmino, few players have it, and his goals could play a vital role in the title race.

"A liaison man who runs the Liverpool press"

Whether leading the 4-3-3 formation formation or in a deeper role behind the main striker in 4-2-3-1, Firmino does a remarkable job for his team.

While Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane are dangerous when they defend themselves, he is rather a liaison man – it is through him that Liverpool can start playing in the opposition half field and look for loopholes. in their defense.

When that does not happen, he always does his defensive work out of the ball and, if he is at the top, he is still the player who starts the press.

When he does not play, he misses a lot because he does not have another player capable of baduming these roles for the team.

What they are not getting enough from him at the moment are goals. As an ex-attacker myself, I want to see him go into the surface to finish things as I know he can.

The fact that he plays deeper, especially when Salah plays the central striker, obviously makes this more difficult.

This leaves him a greater distance to attack the surface and it must be tiring too, but he must find the right time to enter these areas more often and have an even greater impact in the match.

"What strikers need, it's a selfish series"

Earlier this season, his Firmino teammate, Fabinho, described him as the number nine, able to play as he held the role of number eight, and not just as number 10, which shows how often he is in the middle of the field.

I can certainly see him in these different positions. He can play number eight because he has the stamina and aerobic ability to be an effective central midfielder and cover a lot of ground.

As number 10, behind the main striker, you must be the most unselfish player of the team. This is probably the most important work to help the attack as a whole function properly, but you must think of others before yourself.

Role number 9 also has similar aspects, such as holding the ball and inviting others to play, and of course, Firmino is doing extremely well.

But what you also need as a traditional attacker is a selfish tendency. When I played, I always wanted to score goals and I would like to play in this Liverpool team as they create so many opportunities.

With 13 goals in all competitions this season, Firmino is not bad, but he finished with 27 goals in 2017-18 and at this point, he already had 23.

Salah is also fighting for goals, but Mane is catching up with 11 goals in 11 games, and he is on fire right now.

For the moment, Liverpool does not have a big problem, but if Mane stops scoring, she could do it because she counts a lot on her first three places.

Their centers do not make a sufficient contribution despite a very good shot in the air, and their midfielders must also score more goals.

"The Champions League could cost the title in Liverpool"

With less than two months left in the coming season, Liverpool is back over Manchester City after Sunday's victory over Fulham.

I thought the gap at the top of the table would be smaller than last season when City finished 19 points, but I did not expect Liverpool to be in that position. They have been exceptionally successful.

After using so much energy in Wednesday's win over Bayern Munich – mentally, not physically because this match was more mentally challenging than physically – it was perfect for them to play a team like Fulham.

However, they still had to work to get the three points. It was not a perfect performance, but they left with the victory, and it's very positive that they found a way to do it even though they did not play well.

I really think that Liverpool is maturing as a team and is getting closer to City, but I still do not see them winning the title.

When I watch City clashes, I can see them stay unbeaten and even go to Old Trafford and beat Manchester United if they have to.

The big thing that could cost Liverpool is the Champions League.

The more they are in Europe, the more likely they are to lose points in the Premier League.

When they compare their strongest XI to that of City, there is not much difference between them, but the Klopp bench is just not as solid as City's.

Liverpool will face injury or even fatigue in the last weeks of the season. For me, it may be because of that.
