Who attended the baptism of Lena Tindall? – Royal Central

A sleepy village in Gloucestershire welcomed the royal family while the nineteenth row of the throne was baptized.

Lena Tindall, Zara's youngest child & Mike Tindall, was baptized Saturday at a small private ceremony in Cherington, Gloucestershire.

Some members of the royal family were present, but others were absent from the proceedings.

Queen Elizabeth II, sovereign, braved the weather to attend the ceremony. This may surprise some, as it was absent from the baptism of Prince Louis of Cambridge last year.

The Queen was not joined by her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, who is now 97 years old and retired from public life.

The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, who also left for St. Lucia on the same day, also missed the ceremony to begin their tour of the Caribbean.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were also absent from the service. He and the Duchess had a weekend of previous commitments, including the St. Patrick's Day Parade and the Six Nations.

The Duke and Duchess of Susbad were present, Zara and Mike making Prince Harry Lena's godfather.

The royal princess and Lena's captains, Lena's grandparents, also attended the event which took place in the same church where Isla and Savannah Phillips were baptized.

Lena was born June 18, 2018 at the Stroud Maternity Unit in Gloucestershire.

She weighed 9 lbs 3 oz, making her the heaviest royal baby of the last 100 years. The previous record holder was Prince Louis of Cambridge, who weighed 8 pounds and 6 oz when he was born in April.

Lena is the second child of Zara and Mike Tindall, parents of five-year-old Mia Tindall.

She is the seventh great-grandchild of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip and the 19th at the rank of the throne.
