"The Government of Ghana builds and implements social systems to promote equity and access to the infrastructure and services needed to empower and promote the full development of women and girls," said the Minister. .

Social policies

She said that Free SHS had arranged for more than 300,000 students in 2017 and 2018, while the National Youth Employment Agency had provided young people with skills and training to make them fit to employment.

The GETFUND, she noted, also provides infrastructure and scholarships to students. The cash transfer program has helped nearly 2 million poor people, in addition to MASLOC, which supports microenterprises. She added that other policies are aimed at helping vulnerable people, young people, girls and women.

CSW

The Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) is the world's largest intergovernmental body dedicated exclusively to the promotion of gender equality and the empowerment of women.

Technical Commission of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), it was established by Council Resolution 11 (II) of 21 June 1946.

The Commission on the Status of Women plays a key role in promoting women's rights by documenting the reality of women's lives around the world and by developing global standards for gender equality and women's empowerment .

The 63rd Session of the Commission (CSW63) started on 11 March and will end on 22 March.

The Commission will address as a priority theme "Social Protection Systems, Access to Public Services and Sustainable Infrastructure for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women and Girls".

In addition, it will badess progress made in implementing the agreed conclusions of the sixtieth (2016) session on "Women's empowerment and the link with sustainable development".

The Commission will also consider an area of ​​intervention entitled "Women and girls of African descent". The ten-day session will include a ministerial segment with round tables and other high-level interactive dialogues, a general discussion, as well as interactive discussions and panel discussions.
