Praye 1 New Praye is disappointed not to receive nominations for this year's VGMA

The list of nominees for this year's Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), released Friday, March 15, continues to generate much discussion between music lovers and entertainment experts.

While some are satisfied with the nominations, everyone, including the artists, are not satisfied and one of them is the Hiplife group, Praye.

Since the list was published, one of the group members, Choirmaster, has used his nicknames on social networks to express his doubts about the rewards. He also criticized the organizers of the VGMA, Charterhouse.

In an interview with Showbiz, the choir director said he realized that Charterhouse was taking pleasure in breaking the group's heart by not giving them recognition when they deserved it.

Praye had been nominated for an appointment in the best group category of the year, but he was snubbed and the choral conductor was said to be disappointed and heartbroken.

"This is not the first time Charterhouse has done the same thing at Praye because they always break our hearts when expectations are high.

"I remember very well that in 2008, when Praye's music reigned on the airwaves and that Angelina and other songs were big enough, Charterhouse cheated on us by giving the artist some of the best music. year at Okyeame Kwame.

"It broke our hearts and we almost gave up music, but we encouraged ourselves and went on our way. I found that it was their way of doing things and I am surprised that this event, organized for 20 years, does not change their fictitious price system, "he said.

The choir leader, whose real name is Eugene Baah, said that although the Ghana Music Awards were designed to build Ghanaian music, it has become a scourge for the growth of the industry and organizers have been interested in fill their pockets and reward their friends and friends.

After a split that lasted about five years, Praye composed of Praye Tintin, Praye Honeho (choir director) and Praye Tietia met last year and released three songs. "Disco Light", "Adesua" and "Gban Gbai".

The choir director was particularly disappointed because Charterhouse had asked them to perform last year because they believed in their brand.

"They know we are back and Praye is, as always, a force to be reckoned with, which is why they called on us to produce us last year.

"In addition, we have participated in a number of major events, including the EIB Concert, the YFM Regional Code, the Decemba 2Rememba, the Adom TV Carols Festival, the end of the year party. Olams, the Odwira festival, the Kwahu Bliss show on the Hills, a number of Christmas and New Year's holidays, I can not mention here.

"I doubt that Ghanaians even know a few names in the Group category of the year and talk less about their music. VGMA is 20 years old, so support and promote good music, "he added.
