But these claims did not satisfy those in power in the Italian capital.

And Roma's chief, Pallotta, fought back, insisting that he had left total control of the club.

"I was a little surprised to read that Monchi had said at his press conference that he wanted to go in one direction and wanted to go in another direction," said Pallotta in response to comments from Monchi.

"I am aware that Monchi has never nearly failed in Rome, but I want to make it clear: from the beginning, I was very clear about the direction in which I wanted us to go and that's where we were going. is why we spent a lot of money to bring Monchi in.

And Pallotta did not stop there.

With the exit of Monchi at the back of the departure of Eusebio Di Francesco (the Roma have since rehired Claudio Ranieri until the end of the season), the businessman American explained in detail how Monchi's fouls had left the club exposed, especially when the club started fighting on the pitch in November.
