Virtual Aviation, which operates full-motion flight simulators in the UK, uses iPads as teachers' badistants in advanced technologies for pilot training.

Instead of instructors hanging out in heavy suitcases filled with maps, diagrams, manuals, weather reports, flight plans and checklists every time they enter the simulator, they use iPads.

Through the iPad, instructors are very busy with an almost hands-free way to show pilot candidates of Airbus and Boeing the ropes at Heathrow and Gatwick.

The location (and businesses) are also a happy coincidence that allowed them to buy iPads before they're officially available in the UK.

"It's absolutely fabulous, it's no exaggeration to say that the iPad will revolutionize our business while being used in an unseen role," said James Stevenson of Virtual Aviation.
