Legionellosis was diagnosed in three people and one person died as a result of a stay at Christmas Mountain Resort, Wisconsin Dell. At present, local health authorities are investigating the release.
During the investigation, a representative of the complex told the local media that Legionella was indeed present in some of their accommodations. "After the tests, we found that the water supply of some units had been affected and subsequently tested positive for the bacteria," said the spokesperson. The station claims to be talking about the disease to potential customers, but so far denies that confirmed illnesses have occurred on their property, although all sick people stayed in the resort less than two weeks later.
Pending the conclusions of the Ministry of Health, it is imperative that those who come to stay in the station keep an eye on the telltale symptoms of legionnaire's disease. Symptoms include: coughing, shortness of breath, headache, muscle aches and fever. In some cases, the fever can reach up to 107 degrees Fahrenheit. If you have recently stayed at Christmas Mountain Resort and are experiencing these symptoms, emergency medical attention is recommended.
