Walmart recently announced that it would abandon its Savings Catcher program, a price-matching tool that would reimburse customers for any price difference between the price of a big box retailer and a competitor's price for the same item.

The last electronic receipt via the program will be processed on May 14th.
Here's how the program works: First, customers scan their receipts. If a lower price is detected, a Walmart gift card is then awarded to the customer, the difference being loaded onto the card.
"Since the introduction of the program, we have worked tirelessly to lower the prices of thousands of daily items in our stores, allowing our awards to win the vast majority of the time you send receipts to Savings Catcher. Said a statement. on the Walmart site.

The company said in its online statement that since "the intention of the program had been respected", the matching tool had become obsolete.
Those who have a balance on their e-Gift loyalty card have no limit on when they can spend their balance.
The response from customers has been negative on Twitter, much regretting what they consider to be crucial savings through the price matching program.

For those who wish to take advantage of Catalyst's remaining money, here's how to proceed:
You can redeem your e-Gift loyalty card at your online store or online.
At the store
- Use Walmart Pay to spend your money on your store. To learn how to use Walmart Pay in-store, click here.
Walmart.com
- Your e-Gift Catcher loyalty card will automatically be added to your Walmart.com account once you've earned rewards
- This electronic card can be used when making a purchase on Walmart.com.
- In step 3 of the validation of the payment method, select "gift card" and apply your e-Gift loyalty card
The balance will be paid via the selected credit or debit card.
