Monchi and Marc Overmars, two of Arsenal's previously appointed positions for the vacant technical director position, revealed the reasons why they snubbed the Gunners in favor of Seville and Ajax, respectively.

Overmars explained why he had decided to extend his stay in Ajax rather than follow Arsenal's bid, stating (via The Mirror): "There are still a lot of challenges in Ajax and I'm having a good time here.
