Kwabena Adjei Opeo3 Kwabena Adjei was the former National President of the National Democratic Congress

The commemorative ceremony of one week in honor of former Dr. Kwabena Adjei, former National President of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), opposition party, was scheduled for Thursday March 21, 2019.

The decision was made after consultations between the deceased's family and the NDC funeral committee.

The ceremony should have been held today, Tuesday, March 19, 2019, but the parties involved chose to postpone it to allow enough time to prepare, as well as the funeral and funeral ceremonies.

Dr. Adjei died on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, as a result of a long illness.

Barbara Serwaa Asamoah, Deputy Secretary General of the NDC, told Clbad91.3FM that "Thursday we will celebrate Mbad at the Botanical Garden of Legon".

At the same time, the NDC's founder, former president Jerry John Rawlings, paid tribute to the former party chairman, portraying him as a very strong and pbadionate man who lived his conviction.

The former president said that he had a lot of respect for Dr. Adjei because he defended his beliefs and was not a materialist.

Describing Adjei as a fighter during a visit to his family at his Agbogba residence in the suburbs of Accra on Monday, March 18, 2019, Mr. Rawlings said the deceased was very sad and disappointed many things.

"Adjei was disappointed with our weaknesses as a party. He was disappointed with the politics of our party and the fact that he had been monetized and held hostage. He was hurt by the loss of the party's value systems, "said Rawlings.

The former president urged the family to stay strong and united during this difficult time and expressed hope that his children will carry some of his fighting spirit.
