Man Utd legend Ryan Giggs returns to Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the row of 92

Ryan Giggs responded to Zlatan Ibrahimovic's criticism of the 92 clbad by insisting that players with "more than 2,000 matches between us" are entitled to have an opinion on Manchester United.

Former United striker Ibrahimovic said in an interview with the newspaper that the loyalty of Giggs and other experts like Gary Neville and Paul Scholes to Sir Alex Ferguson had fueled criticisms against of Paul Pogba.

Ibrahimovic told the Daily Mirror that Pogba's criticism was that he was leaving Old Trafford and signing for Juventus in 2012, while Ferguson was still United's manager.

"Only Nicky (Butt) is connected to the club now, but when we play more than 2,000 games between us, we will have an opinion," said Wales coach Giggs, who recorded a record of 963 appearances for United between 1991 and 2014.

"Sometimes it's positive, sometimes negative, but it does not affect the results.

"We are fans, which is why football is different.

"But he (Ibrahimovic) obviously knows more about the club than we do."

Giggs and his former teammates in the 92 clbad – Neville, Scholes, Butt, David Beckham and Phil Neville – actually played a total of 3,450 games during the most successful period in United's history.

Ibrahimovic played 53 games with United after being signed by Jose Mourinho in the summer of 2016 before joining LA Galaxy in March 2018.

Giggs was also questioned about the possibility that Manchester City outweighed the American camp of which he was a member in 1999.

United won three times in the Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup that year, but City remains on track for an unprecedented quad.

The Pep Guardiola team has already won the Carabao Cup and is still looking for the glory of the Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup.

City survived the panic of the FA Cup quarterfinals in Swansea on Saturday to win 3-2 after losing 2-0.

"I have enough to worry about, please, do not talk about it." Giggs said.

"It's a fantastic team, is not it?

"They already have one and United is leaving the FA Cup, it makes it easier for them."

"They have a long way to go, but like us in the treble, you need a lot of things for you – that little bit of luck they had on weekends."

"But they are a brilliant team and it will be interesting to see what they can achieve."
