Nothing like a movie featuring two mega-stars. Just think of Butch Cbadidy and the Sundance Kid, or movies starring Al Pacino and Robert De Niro. When the script, the direction and the secondary distribution are present, you can not beat this type of production.
Over the last 30 years, it's hard to find two bigger stars than Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio. Whether for budgetary, timing or other reasons, these two films never appeared in a feature film. But this is about to change.
DiCaprio and Pitt joined Margot Robbie and several other stars – as well as a heavyweight author-director – for the production of Once upon a time in Hollywood, who has already finished filming. Here is an overview of the cast and crew and its release date for the summer of 2019.
Quentin Tarantino directs a cast that also includes Pacino, Margot Robbie and Luke Perry.
A film by Quentin Tarantino is an event and Once upon a time in Hollywood is likely to be as excited as any movie this year. Tarantino wrote the screenplay and directed, as he did in his films dating back Reserve dogs.
In addition to Pitt and DiCaprio, Tarantino plays Robbie in Sharon Tate, the actress murdered by Charles Manson's gang. DiCaprio plays Rick Dalton, a fictional actor whose star blurred in Hollywood in the late 1960s; Pitt plays his stuntman and his friend.
This brief premise alone, as well as the names of the principal actors and the filmmaker, should suffice to bring legions into the theater. However, many other names are badociated with the project.
Kurt Russell, Damian Lewis of Country and BillionsLuke Perry (in his last role), Dakota Fanning and Pacino himself complete the cast. He will arrive in theaters in late July.
'Once upon a time in Hollywood' will premiere on July 26th.
While Once upon a time its official release in May in Cannes is scheduled for July 26. This should at least make the wait more bearable during its opening week.
Following the release of "The Poster" by Pitt-DiCaprio, Robbie shared his blog on Instagram on March 19th. You do not have to be a costume designer to see that they have installed the actress' wardrobe for the movie.
In addition to the stars already mentioned, Tarantino regulars Tim Roth and Michael Madsen are also featured in the film. Lena Dunham, Emile Hirsch and James Marsden are other notable names.
Basically, everyone is in this movie. However, even with the names that clutter the credits, Pitt and DiCaprio manage to surpbad the rest of the cast (even Robbie).
We'll see if the stars have aligned themselves to make their first feature film a winner – and if Tarantino can hit the target with another great photo in L.A.
