The Black Stars held their first training session at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday before their final CAN 2019 qualifier against Kenya on March 23.

Coach Kwesi Appiah was watching 21 of the 24 players he had called for the match.

Fentuo Tahiru of Citi Sports, present at the training session, said that the players present were:

Jordan and Andre Ayew, Mubarak Wakaso, Thomas Partey, Jeffrey Schlupp, Kbadem Nuhu, Frimpong Friends, Felix Annan, Kwame Bonsu, Christian Atsu, Emmanuel Boateng, Alfred Duncan, Kwesi Appiah, Lawrence Ati Zigi, Ofori Richard, John Boye, Lumor Agbeny Joseph Aidoo.

The rest of the contingent, including Inter Milan's Kwadwo Asamoah, is expected to join the squad for his next training session on Wednesday. In addition, Reading's Andy Yiadom will not be available for the match due to injury and will be replaced by Daniel Opare.

Ghana and Kenya have qualified for the AFCON 2019 tournament, but the match must determine who finishes top of the group that disqualified Sierra Leone after being suspended from international football by FIFA for government interference.

Kenya leads the group with 7 points and Ghana is in second with 6 points.
