Do you want to call your son Lucifer? The list of names chosen by parents in 2018 includes devilishly strange choices (but Jack and Olivia top the list)

One family proudly named his newborn Lucifer after the Dark Prince, the devil himself.
The Edinburgh board said his name was authorized on the birth certificate because he was not considered offensive.
Lucifer rivals another chosen biblical name in Scotland in 2018 – a baby called Messiah.

Of the 47,785 people born in Scotland in 2018, there are babies called Awesome, Nun, Royalty and Pepper, the Sun reported.
Karen Watson, a member of the Edinburgh Council, told the Sun, "There are not really rules about names. This is a case where people can call their baby as they want.
Experts say Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's choice will be crucial
She added: "To be perfectly honest, the names are now quite normal and there are only one or two that change a little bit.
"As long as it is not offensive, we do not interfere in what they call their baby."
Olivia was the most popular female given name in Scotland, while Jack was in first place at the boys' table for an eleventh year.
According to Babycentre, it is likely that many babies born of royal names are born in 2019, Meghan Markle to give birth.
Another royal event that could affect the choices of 2019 is the wedding that took place between Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank last year. Eugenie could therefore rank higher.
Lucifer comes from the Latin name of the planet Venus – the morning star – and was then applied to a Hebrew translation that referred to the king of Babylon as being "the one who shines".
The interpretation led the name to become the synonym of stories of Satan's fall from the sky and was applied to the devil himself.
