Speculation is brewing in Westminster over a decision that could throw Breisit's plan into chaos.

CNN confirmed that a request for an urgent debate on Brexit 's request for an extension of May should be presented next Wednesday. If the debate continues and is supported by the legislator, it would force the Prime Minister to change the wording of the his letter to the EU and ask for a longer Brexit extension, rather than a short one.

What does it mean: The request should be made by opposition Labor MP, Alison McGovern. Emergency debates may be requested under Rule 24 or SO24.

If the Speaker of the House, John Bercow, approves the request, a debate and a vote will ensue on the opportunity to force May's hand.

The plan would need the support of the workers' bench to succeed. Asked whether the party would support the proposal, a spokesman told the press badociation: "The Prime Minister should make a statement, otherwise we will support all measures to force a debate in Parliament on that question."

If the urgent debate is sustained, Parliament will take control of Brexit 's extension request – but in the end, whether the requested extension is long or short, the final decision of the Brexit – accepting or accepting it still belongs to the EU.
