Joel Kinnaman announces the announcement of his future when restarting James Gunn's "Suicide Squad"

Joel Kinnaman teased an announcement about James Gunn's return to the newspaper. Suicide team restart – and he remains cryptically shy.

The actor portrayed American Special Forces expert Rick Flag in the 2016 DC Comics movie, which saw iconic villains like Joker (Jared Leto), Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) and Deadshot (Will Smith) to be released secretly to attack a mortal enemy under the supervision of Flag.

Guardians of the Galaxy Director James Gunn is currently working on a "total reboot" of the original after receiving a critical message – which has inevitably cast doubt on the return of the original actors.

While Will Smith has confirmed his departure, Margot Robbie is generally expected to take over the role of Harley Quinn after appearing in the upcoming Birds of Prey.

Talk to NME as he promoted the next Amazon series HannaKinnaman remained shy amid conflicting news about his return to the extended DC universe.

"I can not confirm or deny anything," Kinnaman said. Teasing an imminent announcement, he added: "But I'll do it soon."

This comes after it has been announced that Gunn's new take would focus on a completely different set of characters.
