Luke Perry died on March 4, just under a week after suffering a severe stroke at home in California. Before his death, Perry had filmed the drama CW Riverdale, on which he had played since the first of the series in 2017.

Talk to Entertainment tonight, executive producer of the series, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, revealed that the series will deal with the narrative of Perry's death, although nothing has been formally decided.

"You know, honestly, we are all, I think, still in shock and treating and mourning," Aguirre-Sacasa said. "We know we have to solve the problem in a certain way, but we give ourselves some time and space before we find the best way to honor him."

Perry played on Riverdale Fred Andrews, Archie's father, was a hardworking man who loved his city, his family, and served as a moral guide to the show.

"Luke was, is, and will always be a big part of RiverdaleAguirre-Sacasa said: "We are a kind of family and when such a loss occurs, you always wear it, it changes and hopefully it becomes a little less painful over time, but you have changed."

"When I was with the team, I said," It will never be the same again, "and that's true, because Luke was really part of the series," he said. "There are still a few episodes that have Luke in them, so we're happy to share them."

The showrunner added that regardless of the direction of the show, the essence of Perry will still be part of Riverdale.

"His mind – who was so generous, wise and alive – we hope to infuse every episode, so in my mind, every episode for the rest of the time Riverdale will have a little Luke in it, "he said.

At an appearance on View March 12 Riverdale Star Cole Sprouse also briefly explained how the show will address the death of Perry.

"I can not say too much, but we have something planned narratively," he said. "We have devoted some episodes to him."

"He was very well liked," Sprouse added. "I mean, the whole world is mourning his death, but he was one of those guys who would rather make us laugh at his beautiful stories than cry for too long."

After Perry's death, Riverdale Production was stopped for a short time. Aguirre-Sacasa announced on all social media that all future episodes of drama CW would be dedicated to the last actor.

"By browsing the images to get ready," Aguirre-Sacasa subtitled a picture of Perry with a group of cast members. "From the first days. With Luke in the middle. Our heart, always. Tonight's episode of #Riverdale shows that Fred is doing what he does best: helping Archie. It is dedicated to Luke, as all episodes will be for the rest of our race. "

Riverdale has since resumed filming in Vancouver, Canada.
