The third season of the hit series Netflix has just debuted in its official trailer, leaving us to glimpse a summer of big changes for the children of Hawkins, in Indiana. Aside from the first obvious signs of puberty, gang dynamics are changing, romance is in the air and fireworks are flying. Hawkins, but a morally corrupt new mayor, Kline (Cary Elwes) takes office and opens the new Starcourt Mall, while strange disappearances begin to occur.

It looks like Nancy (Natalia Dyer) and Jonathan (Charlie Heaton) postulate for jobs at The Hawkins Post, perhaps inspired by their investigation of the US government's concealment of Barb's death last year. Which is definitely a better summer job than Steve's (Joe Keery).

Poor Dustin always seems to be left out, especially after all the members of his group – with the exception of Will – have found love. Lucas and Max (Sadie Sink) were matched after this pretty whim at the end of Season 2, while Mike and Eleven are still obsessed with each other.

Another season, another year of Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) be tortured. Except that this time, we hope that it is only the emotional torture of growing up and not that supernatural forces come back to haunt him again. Speaking of the supernatural, it was only a matter of time before we had another contact with Upside Down. Eleven ventured there either accidentally or brought back during one of his telepathy sessions, and we have another glimpse of this sinister red flash.

It was a really cool shot that reminds you that Strange things has established itself as a breathtaking pop culture phenomenon with just a black piece, water and mirrors (and maybe a little inspiration Under the skin). But is the breaking of the bathtub by Eleven significant? Who knows! But it looks awesome.

Eleven has more than one encounter in Upside Down, this time driven by a mysterious force. It's a shot we'll be seeing with someone else in the trailer.
