AAt least three European Union countries are ready to block any extension of Brexit negotiations unless Theresa May can convince them that she has a credible plan to break the deadlock in the House of Commons at the Thursday summit in Brussels.
Any extension of Article 50 negotiations requires the unanimous support of the remaining 27 EU Member States, thus granting each country an effective right of veto, while other Member States reluctantly not risk any agreement.
Countries such as France, which has always taken a firm stance on Brexit, Spain and Belgium would be among the countries signaling that they will require concrete badurances from Ms. May.
