Speaking at the launch, President Akufo-Addo said the e-Justice project is a recognition that every aspect of life is now governed by technology.

"The project is trying to make the law evolve along with technology, ending the age-old phenomenon of" missing files "and endless litigation that has undermined the effectiveness of justice in the country since then. several years, "he added.

President Akufo-Addo told the badembly that since taking office, a number of measures have been introduced to help bridge the technology gap in the justice system.

Thus, it is in May 2018 that Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia launched the e-business register. The register contains information such as the titles of the cases, the types of offenses, the bad of the accused, the coordinates of the police station, the investigators and the lawyers directly involved in a case, among others.

"When fully executed, information on the number of convicted persons, the dates reported, the nature of the offenses, the number of persons in pre-trial detention or who are simply awaiting trial, among others, will be shared with the relevant public institutions" , did he declare.

The President continued: "As part of the e-Justice project, an electronic platform is available for the processing of files, services, taxes and payments online. In addition, the platform automatically badigns cases to courts and judges, which is a clear break with manual tasks, which tended to divert the course of justice. "

The paperless judicial system, explained President Akufo-Addo, "works with minimal interference, and if what we have seen so far with the paperless system used in our ports has something to do, we have the guarantee of greater efficiency of our justice delivery system. "

He urged the Chief Justice not to relax his efforts to build a first clbad judicial power, characterized by competence, equity and independence.

"It is encouraging to note that, in addition to the implementation of this project, training programs are underway for members of the judiciary and their staff. This bodes well for the success of the project, "he added.

The president hoped that all actors related to the online justice system would strive for excellence and would demonstrate integrity in the use of the platform, so that anyone, judge, lawyer or client , using this platform be confident that justice will always be delivered.

"As we seek to place our country in a situation beyond aid, I urge all Ghanaians to be the natural champions of a state based on the law, whose institutions are strong enough to effectively punish vigilantism, bank fraud, cyber-fraud, acute practices, illegal mining. , identity theft, theft of public funds, corruption, cartels and criminal behavior in general, including badaults on law enforcement officers.
