GRIDCo completes Pokuase deviation work | General news

GHANA GRID Company Limited (GRIDCo) has indicated that it has completed the diversion of its Aboadze-Tema 330 kV transmission line crossing the existing motorway interchange at Pokuase in Accra.

This was in a statement published and signed Tuesday by Albert Kwesi Quainoo, GRIDCo Public Relations Officer.

"GRIDCo appreciates the support of the general public during diversions," the statement said.

Last week, the Power Distribution Service (PDS) was advised to allocate load to various bulk supply points to ensure the stability of the electricity distribution system in Ghana.

A request from GRIDCo was due to the construction of the interchange at the ACP junction, Pokuase, as the capacity of the transmission network will be limited.

This move will allow the contractor to complete the work on the power line.

Some parts of the country have experienced blackouts since last week.

The breakdowns occurred in many parts of the capital, Accra, Cape Coast, Sekondi-Takoradi, Kumasi, Volta Region and parts of the country.

Completion of the diversion line is expected to mitigate recent power outages in parts of the country.
