"Some of the affected meals have been provided as frozen meals, which have safe thawing and heating instructions on the lid of the meal and, if heated properly, also pose a low risk," said Hse. .

"However, Meals on Wheels has made the decision to recall all frozen meals currently affected to customers in South Australia who may be at risk if they are not properly heated after thawing."

Listeria infection can cause fever, headache, vomiting and decreased alertness.
