George Afriyie, former vice president of GFA
George Afriyie, former vice-president of the Ghanaian federation, urged Kotoko to extend CK Akonnor's contract despite the team's exit from the CAF Confederation Cup competition.
CK Akonnor led Kotoko to the group stage of this year's competition after 11 years.
After the team's failure to qualify for the quarterfinals, it was reported regularly that the former gaffer of Dreams FC would be fired.
However, the presidential hopeful of the Ghanaian federation has called on Kotoko's high hierarchy to reward the coach with a new contract following his exploits with the team.
"Personally, I do not think so either. For me, I 'll like that they give it a long – term contract, say three or four years for it to take charge of it. team, "he told Atinka FM.
"I talk a lot to CK and he has a lot of plans for the team, we do not have to put him under pressure.
"Look at the time that he took the team and what he could do with them."
George Afriyie followed the Porcupine warriors in their CAF Confederation Cup campaign and was in Zambia for their last game against ZESCO United.
