Kaley Cuoco has been playing Penny in "The Big Bang Theory" for 12 years, but she has hardly been in the series.

In an interview with TV Insider for the last season of the CBS broadcast, Cuoco, 33, said that she had auditioned for the show but had not been selected because of his age.

Cuoco first auditioned for the role of Katie, a character who does not exist in the series but who was part of the original unpublished pilot.
