According to GM representative Dan Flores, the company has "received inquiries from interested parties related to the Lordstown complex and the Chevrolet Cruze".
Flores did not specify which parties were interested in the installation, but simply that GM "would consider all truly viable business opportunities".
Several months ago, Elon Musk seemed to think about the idea of
acquire the complex for Tesla.
The factory ceased production earlier this month when the last Cruze came out of the chain.

On Wednesday, President Trump called for the sale of the GM plant in Lordstown so that workers could be employed again. His speech echoed the sentiments he had tweeted earlier in the week.
"Because the economy is so good, General Motors has to open its plant in Lordstown, Ohio, perhaps in a different form or with a new owner, FAST!", Tweeted Trump on Saturday.
Trump's allies acknowledged that he could be limited by what he could do for the Lordstown factory, but said his vocal advocacy was telling his supporters in the area that he was fighting for them. .
According to the GM representative, the future of the Lordstown plant will be jointly decided by General Motors and UAW.
"To be clear, under the terms of the UAW-GM national agreement, the ultimate future of unallocated power plants will be resolved between GM and the UAW. We remain open to discussion with all relevant stakeholders, but our main focus remains our employees and provide them with jobs in our factories where we have growth opportunities. We have now transferred more than 1,000 employees from our unallocated plants to other GM locations and we have opportunities for virtually all affected employees, "said Flores of GM.
