The streaming of video games does not mean the end of the analysis of the classic game

Since after Sony with "Playstation Now" and Google in cooperation with Ubisoft have jumped on the video game streaming train. The Franco-American partners presented "Stadia". 2019 games can be played in the cloud via this service. Microsoft has immediately announced plans to launch a streaming game service in June.

The principle is similar to that of Netflix and Amazon Prime on TV: For a monthly subscription, you can play on the Internet games of your choice. These are then run in the enterprise data centers. Physical disks, consoles or powerful gaming PCs are no longer needed. Google has already announced that it can even play on a tablet or cell phone. Unlike video or music streaming, burglaries in the computer hardware industry are inevitable in the world of computer science. Although the chip maker AMD recorded a high stock after learning that its chips were used for the "Stadia" in Google's data centers. But if streaming video games were to prevail in the long run, there was no need to spend money on expensive consoles or even more expensive gaming PCs: in principle, a TV with Internet and peripheral connectivity input (controller, keyboard, mouse) is sufficient. Who does not want to play on TV, is with a mini-PC for one hundred euros or less here. There is also a more or less expensive monitor as needed (plus the input device). Graphics cards, motherboards or expensive processors are obsolete.

It remains to be seen how much streaming will replace the clbadic games. Netflix, Amazon and Co. are booming on television, but the majority of television remains linear. In music, in 2018, digital services in Germany exceeded CD sales. For books, the digital market and the badog market are balanced.

It is premature to talk about the end of the game industry as we know it. As in other fields, streaming has disadvantages. This includes no longer owning the games. Hidden or sold falls flat. Similarly, it is said: without monthly payment, no games. Concomitant, that some do not want to accept.
