The Obama book is also nominated in the category of audio books.
The list of audiobooks also includes Milkman, of Anna Burns, who won the Booker Prize last year and will also be competing for the fiction book prize.
Sally Rooney's novel Normal People, Waterstones's 2018 book, is also on the list of fictional works.

Heather Morris' Auschwitz tattoo artist is looking for a better start. It tells the true story of Ludwig & # 39; s Lale & # 39; Eisenberg, who had to tattoo serial numbers on the arms of his fellow prisoners.
David Walliams and Jacqueline Wilson are on the list of children's books, as is Tomi Adeyemi for his debut, Children of Blood and Bone.
This is the second nomination for Adeyemi in two days. The American writer was also nominated for the Waterstones Children's Book Award on Thursday.
Hilary McKay, The Skylarks' War, won the Costa Children's Book Award earlier this year.
The awards, nicknamed the Nibbies, are organized by the magazine The Bookseller. Each of the eight categories has its own jury.
A separate group, consisting of Labor MP Jess Phillips and Kay Burley of Sky News, will then select the book of the year.
