MbadPort Targets Fees and Changes to Compensate for Falling Stocks

BOSTON – Lyft and Uber trips to the airport can cost you even more.

MbadPort officials have developed a plan to ease traffic into and out of Logan Airport as part of a new transportation strategy. The most important change for Logan pbadengers will be where they will be dropped off.

Uber and Lyft are now depositing you at your terminal, but with the new proposal, there will be a centralized "depot" area in the parking garages.

This drop zone would be located at the same place where you would pick up your share of the trip to the airport. This means that you will walk a little further to catch your flight.

In addition, according to the MbadPort proposal, Uber and Lyft's pickup fees would increase from $ 3.25 to $ 5. Runners would also pay the same for being dropped off at the airport.

These changes will reduce traffic to East Boston, according to the agency. State and city authorities have stated that congestion has increased by 47% between 2013 and 2018.

The MbadPort board will vote on these changes next month.
