Man Utd refuses to be held to ransom by two stars as contracts come to an end

Manchester United refuses to be held to ransom by midfielder stars Ander Herrera and Juan Mata.

The Spanish duo United is out of contract this summer and can leave for free June 30, without having managed to agree on extensions with the Reds.

Representatives of both players would have claimed exorbitant salaries for their customers to agree to stay at United beyond this season.

United does not want to respond to these demands concerning Herrera and Mata, respectively 29 and 30 years, which has led to a stalemate in the negotiations with their camps.

Sources from Old Trafford have indicated that Herrera's representatives are asking for a contract extension to the top echelon of United's pay scale, which the club does not want to do.
