The exercise saw 800 students from four elementary schools benefit from free oral screening
As part of the activities marking World Oral Health Day this year, Agogo Presbyterian Hospital, in collaboration with the Ghana Dental Association, organized a screening exercise for schoolchildren in the municipality of Agogo.
The exercise saw 800 students from four elementary schools benefit from free oral screening as well as instruction on maintaining a good oral health.
Specialists at Komfo Anokye Hospital emphasized the need for good oral habits and encouraged students to avoid acts that could harm their teeth.
The dentist also showed the children the ideal way to brush their teeth and encouraged them to brush their teeth twice a day.
Although the day was devoted to oral health, the organizers added free eye-and-eye screening during the exercise to give the recipients an opportunity to know the state of the art. their eyes and their ears.
The day was successful with the distribution of Pepsodent toothpaste and toothpaste tubes, made possible by Asante District Health Authority Kim North and Unilever Ghana.
The director of the board of directors of the National Sports Authority, Kwadwo Baah Agyemang, of Kwaku Atta Sarpong of Ghana Railways Development, sponsored the event.
Other partners include Monbee Surgicals in Konongo, Stellex Pharmacy in Konongo, Agogo Pentecost Church, Agogo Presbyterian Church, Agogo Catholic Church, M & B Agogo Pharmacy, MIRO Forestry Agogo, Juscap Printing and Gokals Pharmaceuticals.
World Oral Health Day is the world's largest awareness campaign for the prevention and control of oral diseases. The day is celebrated every year on March 20th after its launch by the World Dental Federation in 2007.
According to the Ghana Dental Association, six out of ten children in the country have problems with the spoken word.
