Foggy weather disrupted regional flights to and from Auckland.

A supervisor at the airport operations center said 25 domestic flights had been canceled and that 35 regional flights had been delayed due to fog Saturday at 9:10 am.

Nine flights from Napier, Palmerston North, Nelson, Whangārei, Kerikeri, Rotorua, Tauranga, Gisborne, Taupō and New Plymouth have been canceled, said the supervisor.

Thirteen flights from Palmerston North, Napier, Nelson, Kerikeri, Blenheim, Taupo, Whangārei, New Plymouth and Gisborne were also canceled.

Travelers were asked to check the details of their flight on the website of Auckland Airport.

International flights, as well as domestic flights to Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin and Queenstown were not affected by the fog.

A fog restriction was put in place at 6:03 am on Saturday morning.

Metservice's weather forecaster, Amy Rossiter, said that as the sun rose, the fog would dissipate by midday.

The rest of the day in Auckland would be nice with some isolated showers, said Rossiter.
