Epic Games made statements about the use of the store during the Game Developers Conference 2019 (via PC Gamer). According to this information, more than 85 million people have registered on Epic Games Store on PC, also known to distribute the PC version of Fortnite. This places the digital distribution platform on the heels of Steam. As of January 2019, Steam had more than 90 million registered users.

Epic Games conducted two user surveys in August 2018 and January 2019. It turned out that 40% of Epic Games Store or Epic Games Launcher users did not have any all installed the Steam client. 68% would use Steam "not regularly", which seems pretty strange because of the years of domination. It is said that more Epic Games store users would play on consoles than on Steam – perhaps a Fortnite based effect or age of users. The details of the investigation have not been provided. For example, the number of respondents was not revealed. The age structure of the respondents is not clear either.

55,000 creators (influencers) are registered in the Epic Games Store and 41 million players would follow the creators, but this information includes Fortnite on all platforms imaginable. In addition, it was revealed that the free games on Epic Games Store Subnautica and Slime Rancher had been downloaded more than 4.5 million times.
