Man arrested after shooting a parent

RIVERDALE, Utah (ABC4 News) – A man was arrested Friday night after police reported shooting a family member.

Riverdale police responded to a house Friday night on the report of a 55-year-old man who had been shot in the hand.

Police said the victim identified 36-year-old Jacob Iverson as the gunman. Investigators said they found Iverson nearby with a handgun.

He was placed in custody without incident. The victim was taken to the hospital, but is expected to be well.

Iverson was sentenced to Weber County Jail for possession of a firearm by a person subject to restrictions and for aggravated badual badault.

Police said that the investigation into the situation was underway and that she would no longer disclose information for the moment.
