After 15 years, Paradox Interactive and Hardsuit Labs report one of the most iconic RPGs of all time.

It all started with a short message: "Would you be interested in working with Bloodlines 2?" The news came from my good friend Ka'a Cluney and my first thought was, "I'm not sure …" back and forth, something has changed – an idea slowly took shape, the early beginnings delicate of what we want to present today: Bloodlines 2. It is always difficult to think of what was to happen to arrive at this result could come.
After all, it does not happen every day that a game is recalled to life after so many years, and many obstacles have been overcome to move to production. Ka & I had a few drinks together at the end of 2015 and started designing the world of Bloodlines 2 – the project was taking shape quickly.
Ka'a had already persuaded Andy Kipling and Russ Nelson (the founders of Hardsuit) to hold a meeting with Paradox after learning that they had just acquired the rights of World of Darkness. Paradox was very interested in a meeting so we were able to present our ideas for the game at DICE in February 2016.
After that, we were sure that everyone involved was enthusiastic about the idea – but it would still be daring for such a small and unknown company to do a project of this type. It was one of the rare situations in which, as a developer, you had to pay a million coins each time to sign the agreement. But just after the meeting, Paradox and Hardsuit Labs started working on a sequel to one of the most iconic role-playing games of all time.
Who are Hardsuit Labs, you can ask yourself now? When I first worked with hardsuit, it made me think of another small studio filled with ambitious alumni and veterans – Troika Games, the developer of Bloodlines 1.
Andy, Russ and Ka have formed a team that can only be described as a great team of developers. Today, more than 60 people from Hardsuit Labs are working on Bloodlines 2. And our first big title is playing in our hometown of Seattle.
Why are we bringing World of Darkness to Seattle? Seattle has always attracted pioneers, artists and opportunists – some dreamers, some criminals, some others. Today, in the 21st century, it is a city that constantly struggles to preserve its heritage while defining its future.
City of artists and artisans, it also houses some of the largest companies in the world. There is a constant conflict between the old and the new, the whimsical and the rich. A great place for vampires: the masquerade!
Bloodlines 2 is a reflection of modern Seattle and we have built a deep mythology based on the past and present of the city from the point of view of World of Darkness. You will go through these streets, meet important actors and, with charm and ambition, open the way to the limited circle of Kindred society.
It's an amazing experience to return to World of Darkness and create the following Bloodlines that you've all been waiting for. We are excited to revive this universe after 15 years and make Bloodlines available for the first time on a PlayStation platform! We'll keep you up-to-date with the Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 factions, clans, scripts and role-playing systems over the next few months.
Vampires: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 Released in 2020 on PlayStation 4!
