Ghanaian rapper Okyeame Kwame has spoken out against the decision to make French a second language in Ghana.
According to the rapper, French as a second language is disrespectful of the country's fundamental values.
In a tweet about the recent "French as a second language" argument, Okyeame Kwame presented a strong defense.

"French as a second language is disrespectful to our pride and culture, it is bad enough that our mother tongue is another language," he wrote.
By this tweet, the success of "Woso" sought to thwart the idea that French would become a second language in Ghana.
Okyeame Kwame once again asked why such an idea of using a foreign language as a second language was born while our local languages were present.
"What's wrong with making one of our local languages our mother tongue," Okyeame Kwame wrote.

In another tweet on the same topic, Okyeame Kwame noted that other countries have developed with their local languages.
"All developing countries teach, work and interact in their local language", he wrote.
Okyeame Kwame's rant follows a recent announcement by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration.
According to the Hon. Ayorkor Botchway, the government considers French as the second official language.
But it seems that Okyeame Kwame, known for his interest in promoting Ghana's values, is not happy with the revelation made by the minister, hence his tweet.
