SALEM, Ore. (AP) – Authorities announced that a car carrying five teenagers had crashed into a tree in Salem, killing one of the occupants.
The Salem Police Department says it arrived around 4:15 am Saturday. Those in the car were between 14 and 17 years old; a 17-year-old teenager was found dead at the scene, while the other four were taken to hospitals in Salem and Portland. Their conditions were not known immediately.
The Salem police are investigating, but she says the speed seems to have been at least one of the contributing factors.
No other information was immediately published.
