Madeleine McCann Netflix viewers are convinced that they have discovered an index proving that she had been stolen

A new theory on the disappearance of Madeleine McCann appeared after Netflix's controversial documentary on her kidnapping.

Viewers heard a TV show in which the toddler was "asleep" hours before her parents took her to an early childhood center in the Portuguese seaside resort of Praia da Luz in 2007.

People now suggest that the McCann family had been spied on and that Maddie, then three years old, had been drugged by the abductor a few hours before being ripped off her bed.

Maddie's parents, Gerry and Kate McCann, had lunch with friends at a tapas restaurant near the hotel and regularly watched their children before they noticed their daughter was gone.

In the show, Maddie was sleepy on the day of her kidnapping and the fact that her twin brothers and sisters, Sean and Amelie, did not wake up when she went missing helps fuel the online theory.

Madeleine McCann has never been seen since her absence on May 3, 2007

Social media users believe that the toddler was drugged after being watched by the abductor at the resort's kids club and that his brother and sister were also doped.

Nicola Begg said on Twitter in response to the show: "And if [the kidnapper] looked at Maddie, watched the McCanns come out of their apartment to have dinner and check every half-hour, and then the day of her disappearance, offered the three children something that made them so tired that they would not wake up?

"Then, after Gerry checked the children, took Maddie easily, the kids had been drugged, sold, etc.? Just a theory."

The other viewers of the eight-part series, which retraces the stages of the moments that led to Maddie's disappearance and the ensuing investigation, agree that it was safe to say that it was not the case. is a plausible explanation.

The viewers were captured on one line of the show, the toddler was "sleepy" a few hours before being picked up by his parents, Gerry and Kate McCann – who hope their daughter, who would be 15 now, is still in life.

Maddie O 'Leary said: "My opinion on episode 7/8 is that the McCann children have all been calmed by someone (that's why they were tired and did not not woken up when people came in and out of the apartment), then someone kidnapped Maddie, somehow, and sold her through the dark canvas. "

Laura Spencer wrote: "A theory – Kate's friends said that Maddie was really tired of coming back from the kids' club.

"Perhaps [someone] he drugged her earlier in the day to make sure that she would not make any noise when she was abducted later that evening. "

The documentary series features more than 40 experts and people participating in the survey.

But Kate and Gerry McCann refused to participate in the show.

The program covers various versions of what might have happened 12 years ago, flaming police blaming Maddie's parents and claiming she's still alive.

Other parts of the show describe the dark side of the traffic in Portugal with criminals able to easily transport stolen children to other countries.
