Dzeko goes into history with 100 caps from Bosnia

Bosnia-Herzegovina captain Edin Dzeko became the first player in his country to reach 100 international caps in his qualifying match for Euro 2020 against Armenia on Saturday.

Before the meeting in Sarajevo, a brief ceremony was held to pay tribute to the striker, who is also the top scorer in his country with 55 goals.

At 33, he was presented with a shirt bearing the number "100" and a bouquet of flowers.

"It's really a special match for me because it's the 100th, and even more so in my stadium, where I started my career," said Dzeko, whose first club was the Bosnian Zaljeznicar squad.

He made his debut in Bosnia on June 2, 2007.

Dzeko currently plays his football club for the Italian giant Roma, having already won two English Premier League titles with Manchester City and a German Bundesliga crown in Wolfsburg.
