MParticipants included Scottish Prime Minister Nicola Sturgeon, Labor MP David Lammy and Sherlock Holmes star Eddie Marsan.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan has called for the revocation of Article 50, telling the crowd: "In a few days we risk falling off the cliff, which will have catastrophic consequences."

Sturgeon told the protesters that the prime minister had launched "a parliament against the people".

Labor Deputy Leader Tom Watson told the crowd, "Every turn we were ignored, Theresa May doubled instead of reaching out.

"It has prevented anyone caring about employment, solidarity at home and abroad, cross-border friendship and between communities to support this Brexit."

The march in London coincided with Brexit activists who continue their March To Leave hike from Sunderland to the capital.

They hope to arrive on March 29 – the original day of Brexit.

Former Ukip leader Nigel Farage told about 200 Brexit fans that Theresa May had reduced the country to "a state of humiliation".
