They met for the first time in college
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge met for the first time in the early 2000s while studying at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. Many people do not realize that Kate actually had a different boyfriend at the time. She caught the Prince's attention when she modeled a pure dress in a fashion show and William expressed his attraction.
The two would become friends, then roommates, before going to the next level.
Meeting a prince is difficult
The two men had been together for several years in 2007. Although being the girlfriend of the future King of England sounds like a fairy tale for most people, it was not easy for Kate. She began to be harbaded by photographers who followed her with every move, and that hurt her. Prince William knew that the relationship was not easy for Kate and that he feared for his safety.
In the end, it was William who ended his relationship with Kate by calling him on the phone and explaining to him that he felt he did not place her in a fair situation.
William and Kate are separated
Although the breakup was painful, they would each look back at the time as a period of growth and learning. During their breakup, a devastated Kate went to Ireland to put her feelings in order, while William spent time in Anglesey, where he worked as a rescue pilot.

Kate and William realized that they wanted to be together
Perhaps a brief separation was just what the doctor had ordered, because it made William understand how much he loved Kate, that she missed him and that he wanted to revive their love. Kate obviously agreed, since apparently she had never wanted to break up.
The two men reconciled and found their relationship, to the delight of the whole world who supported them from the beginning.
A royal commitment
Over the next few years, William's relationship with Kate has continued to grow and become more serious. Everyone was looking forward to an engagement announcement, the media even doubling Kate "Waity Katie" because she had been waiting for a long time for a marriage proposal!
Finally, in 2011, Kate started wearing this famous diamond and sapphire ring on her left hand. A marriage followed soon after and the couple officially became the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge!
