The fans of Coronation Street may have noticed that the show is back on the screens Sunday night with a double episode.

Yes, we have an hour of Corrie to hope for Sunday night, while Weatherfield is unleashed after the collapse of the roof of the plant.

But what is the show doing tonight and what can we expect from this unexpected episode?

Here is what you need to know.

Why does Coronation Street last one hour on Sunday night?

A double episode of Coronation Street will be broadcast Sunday night to compensate for the absence of the series on the air Friday.

Coronation Street and Emmerdale were eliminated from their usual time slot on Friday night to make way for the England 2020 qualifier against the Czech Republic (5-0 win over England).

The episode of Corrie tonight is the double episode that would have been broadcast Friday, following the dramatic events that occurred earlier this week.

The drama will not be aired Monday night because of the increase in the number of football matches – this time, England will face Montenegro.

However, Corrie fans can expect two additional episodes to be added to the program to compensate for this in a timely manner.
