Why do fans of "counting on" think that children in Duggar are food insecure?

Duggar children are well known for being one of the largest families in the country. Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar had 19 children together and their big family finally became the center of the popular TLC show. 19 children and count. The show has since evolved to become Counting onbut many fans can not help but think that children did not have enough food to grow up.

It is difficult to financially support 19 children

Regardless of whether you are a TLC star or not, almost all American families would have trouble dealing financially with 19 children. According to CBS, raising a child from birth to age 17 costs an average of $ 14,000 a year, which the Duggars have had to do 19 times. That would be close to $ 4.5 million just to raise all those kids. This means that the Duggars would have needed to cut the back corners (especially with older children because they did not have their show until some of the kids grew up). And some fans think that Michelle and Jim Bob have not fed their children enough.

The children bought all their clothes in thrift stores

The meal did not seem very nutritious; it contained chicken, canned soup and Ritz biscuits, among other things. But people thought that the recipe lacked nutrition and was mainly a way to save money. "That's what food insecurity looks like," wrote one user. Another user said, "Your family's recipes speak volumes about your malnutrition."

Jim Bob has a successful real estate business, but it is unclear if this was enough to comfortably care for 19 children.

When fans commented on Jill Duggar's Instagram, they did not necessarily say that her parents were terrible people, even though some of the comments were quite harsh. But people are worried about the Duggars and fear that they will not be well fed and will not receive the nutrients they need for a healthy childhood.
