The government, through the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), has launched a campaign to encourage foreign supermarkets and retail outlets in the country to promote locally made products, named "Made in Ghana Display". .

As a result, the FDA began to engage with major supermarkets and retailers to badign specific sections in their supermarkets and stores to Made in Ghana products. The goal is to improve access to local products, even in these stores, and to intensify efforts to develop the markets for products made in Ghana.

Speaking to reporters in Accra, Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah and FDA Executive Director Delese Darko revealed that some of the targeted stores had already begun to dedicate choice to Ghanaian manufactured goods.

"The FDA CEO recently launched the" Buy Ghana Love Ghana "at the Koala supermarket here in Accra, and we want to challenge other retail stores to replicate the same thing," said Nkrumah.

He revealed that "Meanwhile, the FDA is also about to speed up the registration of locally manufactured products to meet international standards. This will facilitate admission to global outlets, both here and abroad.

Delese Darko, chief executive of the FDA, said her organization is doing everything it can to help local industry meet international standards.

"It should be noted at this point that the food industry is making a huge contribution to the local economy and that the FDA's efforts to align this industry with international standards and create more space for storage in our local supermarkets can not be overstated. We urge manufacturing companies and local start-ups to take advantage and register their products so that they can compete in the marketplace, "she said.
