Although not mandatory, learning a foreign language is common in the royal family. Even Prince George and Princess Charlotte are already on the brink of becoming bilingual – and they have quite the integrated tutor. Prince William is one of the most impressive linguists of the royal family and would have at least five foreign languages (of which he speaks fluently!).

Like his children, Prince William started early learning a foreign language, partly because his father wanted him to speak Welsh fluently before becoming the Prince of Wales. French
Many members of the royal family, including Prince William, speak French fluently. The Duke of Cambridge, Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip, Prince Charles, Prince Edward, Princess Anne, and Prince Andrew all speak the same language. Apparently, Kate Middleton also knows the language and Meghan Markle could also know a little bit about it.
swahili
Although he does not speak fluently, Prince William would know a little Swahili. The Duke of Cambridge learned the language himself during his college years and even talked about it during a royal visit to Tanzania.
Welsh
Learning to speak Welsh is an important part of Prince William's training to his future position as Prince of Wales. In fact, he has been trained almost all his life for this role. According to a 2003 report of BBC, the Duke of Cambridge planned to spend about six months in Wales after graduating from St Andrews in Scotland. "I know that when he finishes his studies at the University of St Andrews, he will come to Wales for at least six months to learn the language. Although it is unclear whether the future Prince of Wales actually went to Wales after graduating, Prince William already knew the language at university. He would have started to learn Welsh at Eton in 1999, as Prince Charles "was anxious" for Prince William to speak this language fluently before crowning him Prince of Wales.
Gaelic
In addition to Welsh, Prince William also knows some Gaelic. It is not known whether the Duke of Cambridge is fluent in this language or is more familiar with Scottish Gaelic or Irish (also called Irish).
Espanol
Some reports claim that Prince William might also know a little Spanish, a language that his children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, are currently learning. If so, the future king knows six languages (including English). Speak awesome!
