Nigeria deports 4 Ghanaians on the rules of immigration

The federal government has announced the expulsion of four Ghanaian nationals for what it has attributed to the violation of certain immigration rules. This was revealed in a statement released Friday in Abuja by the Public Relations Unit of the Nigerian Immigration Service.

The statement reads as follows: "The Nigerian Immigration Service has executed an eviction order authorized by the Minister of the Interior against four Ghanaian nationals for violation of various provisions of the Immigration Act and its regulations.

"This is consistent with the powers conferred on the Honorable Minister of the Interior by subsections 45 (1) and (2) of the 2015 Immigration Act." in the public interest concerns three men and one woman. They are Florence Donkur, Simon Gyan, Yeboah Collins and Alhaji Isa.

"They were deported to their home country via Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on March 22, 2019, at 9 am.

"The Comptroller General of Immigration, Muhammad Babandede, uses this means to reaffirm the Service's commitment to enforce the relevant laws whenever the need actually feels, while encouraging migrants in a regular situation in the country to respect the law "
