Otabil unbeliever Dr. Mensa Otabil, Chief Pastor of the International Central Gospel Church

Mensa Otabil, chief pastor of the International Central Church of the Gospel (ICGC), said Ghanaians can not continue to die in what he described as insane accidents on the country's roads.

According to him, he does not understand why "innocent" lives continue to perish in what he describes as "dangerous" journeys.

He therefore wants the government to take immediate steps to ensure the safety of the country's roads in order to prevent such preventable deaths.

Last Friday, two fatal accidents involving commercial buses in Kintampo and Mankessim left more than 60 dead and several injured.

While deploring the dead in a sermon today, Dr. Otabil said that steps must be taken to save the lives of Ghanaians.

"What is sad is that lives have been lost. people – parents, children died and people lost their loved ones in a totally nonsense way. Nobody needs to die on the road. Ghana is a very small country, why should traveling be dangerous? This is not good, and we should not allow this to happen. "

"Our leaders should take note of it and not just talk about it, but really do something and intervene. When we hear that people have died, it should be inevitable that nothing can be done and not when someone travels innocently on a trip, "he added.

Bloody Friday

Last Friday, more than 50 pbadengers died in an accident involving two buses on the Techiman-Kintampo road.

Many of the pbadengers on the bus were burned to the point where they were no longer recognized, while the other bus died instantly.

Many others wounded to varying degrees were taken to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.

On the same day, the death of 10 people was confirmed and several others injured in an accident at Ekumfi Dunkwa on the Winneba-Cape Coast road.

Indiscipline, cause of reckless driving accidents – Rawlings

Former President Jerry John Rawlings attributed the growing number of road accidents in the country to indiscipline and recklessness on the roads.

According to him, the non-prosecution of careless drivers is also a major cause of the problem.

Jerry John Rawlings called regulators and transport stakeholders Friday in a Twitter post after two fatal accidents Friday in the country with the death of more than 60 people, urging them to "wake up".
