The police administration will deploy agents in the next six days in the six newly created regions.

The Inspector General of Police, David Asante Apeatu, said that this decision comes after a thorough badessment of the security of areas affected by the police, with the help of other security agencies.

The IGP revealed that new regional commanders had already been selected to help strengthen security in the areas, particularly with the arrival of government appointees in the region.

"The establishment of a new regional police requires more energy and some skills in organizational development. New regional commanders were selected after due diligence. The police administration did not doubt that they would meet our expectations, "he said.

IGP Apeatu added that the creation of the region has intensified the efforts of the police to bring its services to the doors of the people.

He explained that it helped them to further decentralize their services.

Meanwhile, head from the local government department, Dr. Nana Ato Arthur urges internal auditors and other officials to prepare mbadive transfers to the new regions.

"Regional coordination councils need to be in place and staffed with key people such as auditors, human resources and agriculture directors," he said.

He said the new region will need experienced civil servants to handle the issues needed before recruiting new staff.

According to Dr. Arthur, 2,200 staff members will be recruited and new members will join the experienced people once in the region.

"Because we need staff to go to these six new regions, some of the old ones will be transferred before we can recruit candidates," he added.
