Medical Device Manufacturer ConvaTec Appoints Karim Bitar as CEO

(Reuters) – British medical device maker ConvaTec Group Plc on Monday named Genus Plc chief executive Karim Bitar as chief executive and announced that its president, Christopher Gent, would step down.

The company said the outgoing chief executive, Rick Anderson, would become chairman of the board of directors on a temporary basis, effective May 9, and would continue to work with management until Bitar joined the company. Bitar, September 30th.

The announcement, which confirms a Sky News report, comes after the manufacturer of catheters and colostomy bags announced disappointing annual results and launched a recovery plan in February.
