Robert Ahomka-Lindsay presents his prize at the third edition of the Ghana Beverage Awards
Robert Ahomka-Lindsay, Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, called on small and medium-sized beverage companies to take advantage of the opportunities offered by Ghana's industrial processing beverage sector.
Speaking at the third edition of the Ghana Beverage Awards, Mr Ahomka-Lindsay congratulated the organizers of the award, the Global Media Alliance, for launching the event under the theme "Drink Ghana, Inspire People". excellence in the beverage industry in Ghana "as part of" See Ghana, Ghana Eat, Ghana Wear, Feel Ghana ".
"This is a great opportunity for small and medium-sized beverage companies to provide starters with different flavors and new types of beverages for consumption. If we examine the considerable number of drinks imported by the country to the market, including fruit juices, we can see that real opportunities are emerging for the beverage industry.
Mr Ahomka-Lindsay said that the Ministry of Trade and Industry was willing to support small and medium-sized beverage companies with incentives such as zero taxes on all beverage manufacturing equipment, a percentage of investment subsidy and commodity duty free for manufacturers with difficulties acquiring raw materials under the 1 District 1 Factory Government Initiative.
He emphasized the need to encourage small and medium-sized beverage companies in the sector because of the benefits they can bring to Ghana's development.
"They can do a lot for Ghana by providing wealth and employment opportunities locally and internationally. It all starts with a first step, "he said.
He concluded by congratulating the winners of the categories and all the players in the beverage industry present.
